KOREAN PORK (Using pantry ingredients)
This is one of our favourites - you can also use beef. It is delicious, quick and can be made from store cupboard ingredients.
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup raw honey - I use creamed honey because it is all I have.
- 1/4 cup Berkshire pork stock - you can use chicken stock or I make my own
- 5 cloves minced garlic minced or 1 tbsp garlic powder (not garlic salt)
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger or 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 1-2 tablespoons sriracha sauce (depending on desired heat)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
Directions for instant pot
- Use saute setting and Saute pork in sesame oil until browned
- Add the rest of the ingredients.
- Close the lid, and make sure the pressure release valve is turned to "SEALING"
- Press the MEAT program button, and adjust the time to 5 minutes for ground beef/pork
- Leave the instant pot release pressure naturally (about 25 minutes)
- Serve with rice and garnish with spring onions if desired
- You can make this on the stovetop just adjust the cooking time until the meat is tender.
- substitute ground beef, turkey or chicken
- STORAGE TIP - store ginger in the freezer, it is easier to grate - wash ginger, no need to peel and put in a storage bag, just grate off what you need and put it back in the freezer
